Current affairs for Bank exams and Civil Services exams

A career in banking and Civil Services are one of the most preferred career options for the students. Similarly, bank exams, and UPSC exams for civil services exams are important exams which need to be taken seriously. These exams not only focus on the syllabus but general knowledge and knowledge of current affairs.

Current affairs are the lifeline of bank exams and civil services exams as a major portion of the question paper is about current affairs. Not only just exams, even in interview sessions one is asked about the current affairs. In both the exams main and prelims there are questions regarding current affairs. Even applicants are selected in interviews on the basis of their knowledge of current affairs. Bank exams and civil service exams are both for services towards the state therefore it is very important for the student to be updated with the affairs of the state. For example: if one is giving an exam in 2011, one needs to be updated with the current affairs 2011 and even of the previous years, as questions can be asked for them also. In order to prepare for the bank exams and civil service exams one needs to be well prepared, one should regularly read the newspaper, search the internet for mock question papers, listen to the radio, and watch news channels. Even if a person is well versed with the syllabus and does well in that section he or she can not go forward without having a good knowledge of basic current affairs. One should have a good grip on recent inventions, people in the news lately, politics, and major problems in India, current affairs about India’s economic transactions with other countries, national and international issues, sports, personalities, tours, glamour, awards, meetings, conferences and budget. One should also be updated with on going projects, geographical names, cities, population, authors, people, national symbols; companies’ etc. one should read newspapers and underline main headlines. One should also take tests and answers queries which would help the individual to answer precisely and correctly during the exams as over writing and illogical writing can lead to failure.

Therefore, one should be updated in Current affairs in order to pass the civil exams and bank exams with flying colors.
